3.0 Introduction


This chapter presents the setting, the instrument, the data collection procedure and the data analysis of the research.

3.1 Setting

The context of research for this chapter is we are collecting the data from the questionnaire that we have distributed among 2BCN students that consist BCN C21, BCN C22, BCN C23 and BCN C24. The survey is conducted in UMP. There are 60 students will participating in this research. We will give the questionnaire to 60 2BCN students.

3.2 Data Collection

Data collection is compilation and interpretation of primary and secondary sources of information. Primary source is the data collected by researcher himself. Besides, secondary source is the data written by other researchers via books, journals or newspapers. The integration of different sources will consolidate the write up of the report


3.2.1 Instrument

The instrument for our research is our questionnaire that contained 20 questions. The questionnaire basic type is closed-ended questions. The objectives of this questionnaire are to identify the causes and ways to prevent plagiarism among 2BCN student at UMP. There are three sections in this questionnaire. The three main categories in our questionnaire are section demographic information, cause and ways to overcome the problem. Section Demographic (Section A) consist of seven questions, Section B consist of seven questions and Section C consist of six questions. All the survey questions are close-ended questions.

3.2.2 Procedure

Firstly, we try to find out all the information regarding to our questions from the journals and design our questionnaire. After questionnaire approved by lecturer, we sent out 60 set of the questionnaire paper by hand to four sections of second years Networking students. We randomly choose out 15 person from each section for investigate our survey. It takes about one week to collect back all the forms.


3.3 Data Analysis

After all the forms are collected, we do the analysis. The data were transferred and calculated in Microsoft Office Excel. Finally, Microsoft Office Excel will present graphs of our research according the coded data.
